The 2018 landmark documentary film, directed and produced by Peter Jackson, was created by colorizing original World War I footage from the Imperial War Museum’s archive. Audio is from interviews of British servicemen who fought in the conflict with the addition of sound effects and voice acting to be more evocative and feel closer to the soldiers' actual experiences during the war.
